Adam Lisagor didn’t set out to be a commercial star. In fact, he fell into the advertising business by accident on the way to promoting an app he created with a friend.
The app didn’t fly, as it turned out, throwing a wrench into his plans to become a software developer. But the product demo-style ad –- featuring the bearded, slightly disheveled Lisagor himself — launched his current career as the producer and frequent on-screen pitchman of choice for Silicon Valley startups hyping their tech gadgets and services.
No matter that he isn’t a trained actor and doesn’t have a Screen Actors Guild card, Lisagor drives traffic. His video for Coin, a credit card-sized device that stores multiple cards, has logged more than 9.7 million views on YouTube since debuting late last year. An ad for car console Navdy, posted in August, has snagged 1.3 million views. Read more…
